Negligence?

I share a garage with the tenants in the front house.(i live in the back one)
They constantly leave it unlocked with there maintenance people in and out of it......................i found that i am missing 600.00 worth of fishing reels and 800.00 in tools.



can i sue for negligence to recover my loss?
as they state they wont help


i have a police report for theft as there was no breaking or entering


any help would be much appreciated

Do you have renters insurance? Your loss may be covered...

No renters insurance




so i am just out the gear and tools? i would think they would have some responsibility for leaving it unlocked..............and it was clearly done by one of there workers who had time to case my side of the garage as only my expensive gear and tools were gone



but thanks anyways just sad i will have to move my garage into my extra bedroom to prevent theft if there not responsible for leaving it unlocked

You can't prove who left what unlocked. Even if they did there is little or no liability for them.
