On March 2nd of 2014, I was arrested and charged with being drunk in public, disturbing the peace, and Resisting Arrest, none of which I did! All this happened because a neighbor who has been harassing me with calling the Sheriffs on mefor petty things that I did not do, for the 12 years I have lived here. It got to a point where the Sheriffs would no longer answer her calls. Then a wacked out neighbor, who had been in the army in Iraque and came back with PDSD, moved in to our neighborhood. This neighbor jumped on the opportunity to badmouth me to this x soldier got him to call the Sheriffs with a lie that I was Drunk and disturbing the peace. I had simply walked down to my boyfriends house to see if he wanted to come have soup that I had just made. His phone was out of order so to talk to him I had to go to his house. I had seen the neighbor that has been giving me trouble for 12 years talking to the neighbor who got me arrested as I was walking past their houses to my boyfriends house. i was not drunk, I hadn't even had anything to drink that morning at all. When my boyfriend and I started to walk up to my house we came out on to the road, we live on a dirt trail in a rural communit, as we came out on to the road there. N was the sheriff talking to this guy. The Sheriff walked over to both of us and ordered us to go to our respective houses Neither of us knew th reason because the Sheriff did not say why. We were not even fighting, nor talking loudly. The Sheriff did not say anything else then went back to talk to the guy that called him. I waited for the Sheriff to leave to go back to talk to my boyfriend, to find out what he thought was going on. I had never been arrested before this all happened so I had no Idea that I should have stayed away from my boyfriend, as I was told by friends later. So I went back down to see my boyfriend and the jurk called the sheriff back. As I walked back up the road there was the Sheriff parked in front of my car right in front of my house. He grabbed me and put handcuffs on me and took me to jail. he didn' give me a breathalizer test nor would he tell me why I was being arrested. He was hurting me and through me into the back of his car and tryed to close the door on my legs and because he couldn't get the door closed he accused me of resisting arrest. I didn't have the chance to resist arrest. I am a 63 year old partially dissabled woman and have a full time job that has me driving 180 miles a day to work and back. This whole event has put my life and livelihood at risk and this guy is still harassing me with the Sheriffs! He calls them at every opportunity he can. I called the Sheriffs night befor last and let them know that I'm tired of this guy harassing me with them and I want it to stop. Theriff told me that they would investigate him, but I dought they will. The Sheriff told me that this neighbor was going to move in 10 days. To late the damage has been done! What is my recourse in this matter. Thank You Kitty

You can discuss the situation with an attorney nearby.
There is nothing we can do for you, except advise you to see an attorney.
Whatever we would say is meaningless, insofar as the sheriff is concerned and your pending legal matter.
Your best bet is to avoid all contact with the sheriff or his deputies through the pendency of your criminal issue.
That doesn't mean that you can't or shouldn't report crimes, or ask for assistance.
You should hire a lawyer, or ask the judge to appoint a public defender to represent you.
At this time, its best to keep a low profile and avoid any confrontations.
This isn't that serious, as long as you keep out of more trouble.
