I live in Brea, Ca., the eastern (back)side of my house is adjacent to a very woodsy golf course. My neighbor to the north of me built a ridiculous 2 story room addition(all legit and permitted) 5 feet from the fence line.
Even though it is permitted by the City of Brea, it is an absolute monstrosity which has invaded our privacy and I feel has caused our property value to drop. Several local Real Estate pros had previously told us that our lot would easily demand a $100,000 premium above similiar houses in the neighborhood.
It makes us sick to go outside and look at this 20' wall of stucco 5' from our fence. We have had to build a patio cover just to restore some of our privacy while in our kitchen.
Even though it is a permitted room addition, do I have any basis for suit??
