My jurisdiction is: Florida, USA

In 2002 my grandfather died and i was the executor to the will. He left his car to his son(my uncle). He never came to pick it up and i had the Bill of Sale.
I have since moved to Florida from New Jersey. The car sits in my driveway at first i was starting the car every once and a while but have since stop.
I spoke to my uncle on what he was going to do about the car, and he told my to see if i could sell it that he would rather have the cash. I told him we would buy it. Since i was i possession of the bill of sale we mailed it to them and never recieved an anwser back and that was 2yrs ago. what is my next step.
Can i consider the car to be abandoned and get a mechanics lein or something before the car is ready for the junkyard.

You can't get a mechanics lien, but you can inform him in writing that he has a specified period of time (it has to be reasonable) to pick up the car or you will have it towed. You can have it removed from your property at that point, but you can't sell it for parts or anything.
