i'm scared

really scared

be afraid

very afraid

i am unemployed

why

hr is confused

very confused

with all of the changes in these laws, who is training these folks

i think if i were to do a root cause analysis i believe my unemployment stems from very, very confused hr

they were too afraid to talk to me about my fmla/disability leave due to medical privacy. they use a 3rd party administrator so they don't have to deal with the 'medical privacy' issue, so they just refuse to discuss it with employees, period

my hr 'director' who wants to be a 'consultant' doesn't know this stuff either so instead of asking questions of his higher ups to understand the new laws/regs he gets pissed and refuses to admit he doesn't understand because he can't handle the changes...so those that know and understand are just 'done away with' so they don't have to face what they don't know

that's ok, i am in ca now enjoying my unemployment living off my savings because of some 'old' republican who can't handle change or admit he doesn't know

hey, man, don't blame me if you are having a bad day....as kenny chesney says, i'll just sit right here and have another beer in mexico....

ok, i'll call them out here....cbg and jacksgirl, you 'are' my former employer, epitomized...like them, you are setting yourself up for failure and huge diasbility lawsuits because of your ignorance and failure to comply with federal adaaa, and in the state of ca, state public policy in regards to disability discrimintation. did you know that your failure to comply with these laws and refusal to acknowledge the diasblity of your employees, in my case, me...is akin to calling a person of color the 'n' word, repeatedly....your failure to take affirmative action to protect and comprehend the disabilities of your workforce, will cost you, big. there is no excuse for your reprehensible behavior.
i personally, now get to go before 3 judges in the state of ca and tell them the same thing about my former employer because my employer is just like...you. may i ask what your defense is going to be to that to all judges...unemployment, workers comp and the ca dept of fair employment and housing commission in the great state of ca.

my employer is hanging their hat on the 'you quit' excuse, also...well, let's look at this a bit....why did i quit, because, let's go over this one mo' time, your failure to provide affirmative action for your employees with disabilities, is reprehensible. my employer's complete disregard for my health and well being as an employee and your failure to comply with state and federal disability affirmative action laws, will come back to bite you. 'you' are responsible for your actions and inability to comply....again what is your 'defense', i mean 'excuse, this time....

oh, my employer is also hanging their hat on, 'you don't have health insurance, ha, ha, ha, ha'......well, unlike the current fed debate, the great state of ca does have public insurance available for folks left high and dry by irresponsible employers....;0 yes, i do have insurance, and my savings to live on while all of this goes through the court systems...where is that defense attorney when you need them....how much does your attorney charge an hour...wow....better quit messing up here, folks, this is costing you a lot of money....
