We are homeowners and have lived in our house for 7 years. We have two dogs who like to romp in the yard during normal daylight hours. We are very considerate people, and don't let them carry on for hours on end. Our neighbor next door has a dog, the neighbor to the back left of us has 2 dogs, the neighbor to the back right of us has a dog. All of us are homeowners, and we all have fences.
Recently a new tenant moved into the house directly to the rear of us. Within 10 days of moving in, he called the police complaining about our dogs. He's gone so far as to call them 4 times in a single week. The police are tired of hearing from them, because they know that the calls are bogus. In fact, the last time they called the man admitted the dogs had only been barking for 3 - 4 minutes. (We have friends in the dispatcher's office who has told us this). There is a noise ordinance in my city, but it does not apply for the occasional barking dog. We know he has also called on the other dogs in the neighborhood.
Last night, this fellow sprayed our left rear neighbor's dog with a hose and the poor animal had not actually done anything.
We have called the landlord and complained about the behavior of their tenant more than once, yet they have done nothing to date.
This guy won't answer his door when we knock so we can have a rational discussion. Is there anything my neighbors and I can do about this?
