Hi, I've started designing a site for someone I know. He's completely computer illiterate, so I have registered the domain, host, ecommerce package, and autoresponder in my name. Lately, he's been asking me to post videos and pictures from other sites which I realize I cannot do. I cannot afford an actual consultation with an attorney. Is there any way I can have him sign a release form freeing me from any liabilities that may occur as a result of the site? Also, is there an informative guide of the specific liabilities that may result from designing a web page? As the site will have eCommerce, a blog, and an autoresponder in addition to information, I am beginning to see that there are a lot of places where I could potentially get in trouble. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Allen

I guess I should clarify a few things. First, the person I'm designing the site for is a friend. He needed a web site done, and I wanted to get my feet wet in doing so. When I started, he just asked me to handle everything (the registration, etc) because he just flat out didn't want to deal with it. I used my credit card and as such put everything in my name. I have since been reimbursed for everything. When I started, it wasn't such a big deal as the site was to be a static information site. A few weeks in, he started making changes and adding things which is how I've gotten to the point I'm at now. I'm very happy with how things have gone so far, but I can't risk any legal trouble as I have a family to take care of.

Thanks for the response,
Allen
