I have a question, my wife has been taking NEXIUM 40mg 2 times a day for the last 5 years
or so. She has been having problems with her kidneys. It started slow and just keep getting
worse...She now has Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3....My wife was talking to her sister
last week on the phone and her sister told her she had just found out that Nexium has been
causing problems and one of the problems is with kidneys...My wife's sister was also taking
Nexium but stopped after hearing about these medical problems it has been causing.
Well my wife left a message for her doctor asking if she should take this medicine or not.
He sent us a message telling her to stop taking Nexium..
Ok, she stopped taking Nexium, but now she has Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3.
What can we do about this? And thanks ahead of time for your advise!

She should arrange an appointment with her physician and have several additional tests done.

Some kidney diseases can be reversed, halted, or at least slowed.

Proving if any medication has a nexus to her current medical maladies is a very daunting task.

She can meet with a couple attorneys, but any stage three disease is dangerous territory.

I'd focus my energies on getting better, before I'd embark on any legal folly.

I wish your wife good health, and I hope she can recover from her diagnosis.

Thank You very much armyjudge, according to her doctor, stage 3 kidney failure is not a
life or death situation...I certainly thought it was as it surely sounds like it is, but he insists
that it is not...Thank you again.

I'd choose to believe the good news over the bad news.

Let's just hope she gets better, sooner, rather than later.

That's because you are using alarming terminology when it's not kidney failure. The proper name Stage 3 - Chronic Kidney Disease which, while of medical concern, is common and the progression to advanced stages can be controlled with proper attention to the condition.

A referral to a kidney specialist is necessary.

Once you get her health taken care of there are plenty of attorneys advertising online for nexium clients.

I hope you're seeing a nephrologist (that's a kidney doctor).
