Three years ago, my boyfriend at the time borrowed me $2,000 to buy a car. I made him sign a promissory note with a payment schedule, that he did not follow. He still owes me $1,600.
Now he doesn't reply to emails and phone calls and I had enough. I want to take him to court, but I don't have his current address. I don't know where he works (if he does actually work). Is there anything I can do?
Many thanks!

You can sue by publication to secure your judgment. Then hire a private investigator to find him. It shouldn't be hard.

I am editing this to explain. Publication is a way of "notifying" the Defendant by putting an ad in the legal paper of the county where he/she lives.

There are also services via Internet that you can use... for a $40-50 fee, provide a name, date of birth, and last known address and a public records search will be conducted to dig up some updated info included current address and phone number.
