How would child support and alimony be determined? Although we live in an upscale neighborhood my husband is self employed and rarely takes payroll checks and shows very little income. I have been a stay at home mom for the last fifteen of our twenty years of marriage but occasionally will write myself a payroll check since I am listed as a officer of his company. Will this affect my chances of receiving alimony?

you might want to google your states child support and alimony guidelines, and see an attorney.

If he is self employed it is going to be hard to probe his income. Do you havbe bank statements and tax returns for the last several years?

If you know your marriage is coming to an end, it would be wise to start seeking some employment.
