Noise

Hello:
My elderly parents' next door neighbor built the driveway very close to their bedroom as saying that they got 'permit.'
The problem is one of my parents has health issue and needs nightly sleep along with rest even during day-time.

They expressed their concern regarding noise, i.e. entering and exiting cars several times per day along with their company's cars.

Any advices on this would be appreciated.

Move their bedroom to another in the house or wear ear plugs.

This isn't something the law can address. The neighbors can't sit home or not have visitors because opening and closing the car door might fall during naptime. A white noise machine or earplugs are the way to go.

I assume, if they really did get a permit, they didn't build it on your parents' property so there isn't much you can do about that. Can it be arranged that their sleeping area is moved to another room? If not, go with one of Elle's suggestions.
