Non communicating heir to estate

My sister and I are heirs to our mother's estate. I was named personal representative in her will. Everything is to be divided 50/50 including the house. I don't want the house, my sister doesn't want the house, but she will not return mine phone calls to discuss anything involving my mother's estate. Do I need to hire an attorney to help with this? I want to get this estate settled as soon as I can, but she is making things very difficult. She is very unhappy that I was named or instead of her.

Has your mother passed away?

Or, are you preparing for her demise?

The hose can be sold, it's called partitioned by the court.

It's better if you both agree.

She may never speak to you.

It might behoove you to retain an attorney to dispose of the estate.
The attorney can be paid out of the estate's proceeds.

I suggest you meet with three or four estate, probate, or trust attorneys for specific advice.

Yes, my Mother has pass away. I would like for this to go as smooth as possible, but since my sister will not answer my phone calls or reply to my text messages I guess I have no choice but to hire an estate attorney. Thank you for your advice.

Yes, death can cause some people to behave oddly.
Neither one of you need extra stress while grieving your beloved mother.
Hiring an attorney to distribute your mother's estate according to her wishes and with the courts orders to enforce your mother's wishes is much easier than interacting with a cranky, cantankerous, ornery person.
