I am currently trying to work with software developers in India and considering one of 4 companies to help me. In order to protect my idea I have asked them to sign a non disclosure agreement but am not sure if it has to be signed by both parties to be binding. If I send it via email and they complete their name, business and address, does this become a legal document? If not what do I have to do to ensure that I am protected.

Essentially, a contract binding one party needs the party to be bound to sign the agreement (an enforceable contract must be signed by "the party to be charged.") Once you get it back you're in the clear - after all, you could also sign it immediately and fax back a copy just to clear the air.
