I shoplifted a few things from a store today (less than $50). The store is smaller, with only 1 person in the store who works behind the till, so I guess they know pretty much exactly what is on their shelves. The clerk noticed that there was only 1 of a certain product on a shelf, and she was certain that there was 2, after she recommended said product to me (which I did take, without her noticing). She seemed SUPER suspicious of me after that. I left without being caught, however I did notice that there is video surveillance. If I was caught on video surveillance and she decides to review the tapes, is there any way that the police can ID me? And if they can, what kind of punishment am I looking at? This would be my first offence and I am 17.
EDIT: This store is in a little "mall" that consists of a small hair salon, a zellers, and a bakery that's been closed down for years. I think they have their own mall security, if that makes a difference.
