I had leased a house and to make a long story short, we got out of the lease early. The owner sued for back rent and damages. I owe him $5,900. I received a "Notice of Intent to Attach Wages, salary or Commissions" the other day. In Pa I didn't think you could garnish wages. Please explain.

"Pennsylvania Wage Garnishment
No wage attachment in this state except for taxes and child support. " Fair Credit Act website.

Also, I was sued for damages and the judge awarded them to the plaintiff. He has since sold the house and did not do the repairs that were requested in the suit. Do I have to give him money for the repairs that were never done?

Thanks

David

What the former landlord does with the money he was awarded for damages you did to the property is not something you should be concerned. Your concern should be to pay and have a clear record; now, as far as garnishments, if the notice you received came from the courts then, yes, it is possible to garnish wages in PA.
