I live in Illinois and I received a notice of motion from my ex husband requesting to terminate his contributions to our child's college and medical expenses of which he has paid little to nothing over the past 3 years. I do not have the funds to retain legal counsel, am not able to miss work to attend court and do not wish to challenge this since I will likely not receive any contributions from him even if his request is denied. Do I need to file any kind of a formal response with the court or his attorney? Thanks in advance for any advice.

No, he'll win by default, if you fail to appear.
