My wife has been working for a home health agency in Texas since the end of January and has recently been informed of some troubling news. Apparently, her boss was licensed as a LVN in the state of Texas and had her license revoked on March 10, 2009 for misrepresenting herself as a RN to the staff, patients, and community. My wife was hired at the agency to do admissions and other RN work as needed. My wife's boss recently took her on an admission to train her since she has been doing mainly LVN work up until this point and my wife began to question whether this was legal. It is our understanding that a RN is needed to admit and assess new patients and obviously her boss has been doing this without a license. My wife would like to report her to the Board of Nursing but wants to make sure she is not going to get into trouble for doing so. Can someone please help?
