I am in a custody dispute with my ex in NY. Throughout this process I have been falsely accused of many things. The most egregious of these is a DUI, which I have never had. Not only did my ex's attorney accuse me of having one in court claiming she had the documents (which she could not produce) she also accused me of it in a public forum, in the waiting room of the court where there were many people waiting. Upon their not being able to produce any case where I had a DUI they have now taken to claiming that I pleaded down, again, never happened. This is having an affect on the custody case and most definitely damaging my reputation to the court. Is there any recourse for this?

Thank you.

There might be recourse, but not without a lawyer.
You could call her as a witness, get to her lie (or admit under oath), call another witness who heard the accusation to rebut or buttress her admission.
It might help you in your custody hearing, as it could go to character.
But, your trial judge would have to allow you to do it.
It ain't a slam dunk.
If you try it in a separate matter, it won't help you in this case.
You need a lawyer.
Discuss it with him.
Tricks are for kinds and a cereal, not a court room.
