My husband is a commercial driver in Indiana. He was making a delivery for his company in New York (Mount Vernon) and didn't have his driving log filled out. He was given a "failure to maintain log book" violation. The officer marked that it was a misdemeanor and told him he had to appear in court. We live 700-800 miles away from NY. The court told us to just send them $150 in the mail but how do we know that the court won't suspend his license and tell him that he should have obeyed what the ticket stated?

Put it in writing that the court has waived personal appearance and send it CRRR. Be sure to get the name of the clerk.
