To make a long story short I bought a car in Toronto.
The odometer read 140k when I bought it.

Soon after I purchase the car I find out that it had been rolled back in 2004. He never said a word about the cluster being changed even when I asked him. There is alot more to the story but from what I hear odometer fraud is a chargable offense.

What can I do to get my money back? A lawyer would be a great option but they cost money, and me being a student I have very little of that. However if it comes down to it I will look into it.

What are my other options?

Thanks in advance!

Are you in Canada? If so check out for some Canadia law websites....... This covers mainly US law........Who know you might get lucky here.

you would probably have to prove who rolled it back, and that the seller knew the odometer was wrong and had been tampered with. You'll probably have to sue him in small claims court in Canada.
