I got a ticket for going 100 in a 65, on the ticket the officer wrote i was doing approximently 100. in the VC states (b) A person who drives a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than 100 miles per hour is guilty of an infraction punishable, as follows:. As you can see it states that a speed GREATER than 100. he wrote i was doing 100 which is obviously not greater than 100. How should i handle this and what will is the punishment be?

this happened in CA by the way V C Section 22348b

A speed that much over the limit can actually be prosecuted as a misdemeanor. You won't qualify for traffic school either.

You don't have a magic way out of this. The citation can be amended if need be. You should consider hiring an attorney to help you through this and minimize the damage. You have a very expensive fine ahead of you and your insurance rate will skyrocket!

An attorney may be able to help you negotiate something much less painful than what you will face without one.

Agree, I would talk to a traffic law attorney & see what he/she might be able to do for you.
