I was arrested in 1998 for disorderly conduct/mj posession/paraphernalia. I went to court and got probation w/ community service for the disorderly conduct charge, and nolle prosse on the other charges. I was in the process of moving to another county in FL, and did my community service in palm beach county. When I had completed it, my p.o. told me there was nothing else I needed to do, and several months after that, I moved again, within FL.
I was talking to a lawyer in the hopes that I could have my record sealed, and he said that I still had an active bench warrant from this arrest. I called the courthouse and they said I could file a motion to dismiss the warrant, explaining my circumstances. I currently live in CA, and am unable to afford a lawyer right now, since I am unemployed. I am also applying for entrance to professional school though, and would like to settle this issue. Is there some resource I could use to petition the court to remove the warrant and close the case? A template of some kind?
