I received a letter from a collection bureau that is trying to collect on a ticket that I had received at least 10 years ago, if not 13 years ago, in the state of Ohio. I have never been to Ohio since and I live in Kansas. I was in college at the time and thought I could simply blow this off...I know differently now for several reasons. I would like to know what the statute of limitations is on a speeding ticket in the state of Ohio. I would also like to know if this is just a way for a collection agency to collect some cash in hopes that I would not do research, etc. and simply pay the entire $137.80. Thanks.

There is no statute of limitations on paying a traffic ticket. I am surprised that this is all you owe and that they have not suspended your license.
