Old Will

Ten years ago as a single woman my father required me to have a will made up. Having no one else to name in my will, I left everything to my nieces and nephews. I have since married although we have no children.

There is no part of my existing will that I wish to keep as I want to give everything I have to a charity. I did not like the attorney I worked with to draw up my first will and I felt it cost far too much for the service.

1. Can I use a form to draw up a will that leaves everything to a single charity? Then have it notarized.

2. Because it is dated later, would the new will make the previous will void- or is there something else I need to do regarding that? No one has a copy of the previous will aside from the law office where I used to live.

Any help would be appreciated,
M

I would encourage you to find a pro bono attorney to draw up a new will or to review the will template you have completed just to make sure that your wishes will be fulfilled after you are gone. Good Luck!
