Ok, back in February, my friend begged me to place $100 bet on the Giants on an online gambling site. He didn't want to register and use his own money, so he had me put up $100 of my own. I deposited $100 and decided to play blackjack and made it into $400. The Giants won making that $400 into $1200. I went on to lose the $1200, but now my "friend" is telling me that I owe him the $1200. Does he honestly have any claim to that?

I don't think so. You were the one playing online and the fact that you multiplied the bet from 100 to 400 was from your own doing. Your friend is SOL.

Most online gambling is considerd illegal. If you conduct bussiness with someone, with the same lawless intention, you both have dirty hands. Generally this would prohibit a judge from ruling on the case.
Your risk of prosicution is very very small. With your facts only, and asuming you were operating within the law, any judge ruling in the defendant's favor would have to be insane.
