Open Container in Hermosa Beach

Hello,

I recently received a ticket for an having an open container. I noticed that the officer circled M for misdemeanor.

Later I received the next steps for the ticket and it said
-Pay
-Court Trial
-Trial by declaration

The violation code they gave me is 9.04.010F 1G

I asked for a court trial.

What can I do to check if this ticket is in fact a misdemeanor or not?

Talk to the court.
In CA, I believe if you seek a trial, you pay first.
The payment serves as your bond.
You beat the charge, you get the money back.
If you're indigent, they can make exceptions.
Visit the court clerk, ask them how to get a trial on the matter.

Also inquire about being indigent, unable to pay up front.

Don't call, don't wait, visit them in person TOMORROW.
