Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Open Container in NC

I was recently at a party with some friends of mine, when a friend said he needed a cigarrette. We went just outside, each of us had a cup in our hands containing alcohol. The police pulled up out of nowhere and gave us tickets for possessing an open container. We are both underage, but we did not get MIP citations.

I have a few questions, namely:

1) Is there any way to fight this
2) Is there any way to apply a PJC to this
3) What will the long-term consequences be if I plea guilty?

lol, its funny. So i get arrested for Possesion of Alcohol a couple days, ago, and start roaming the net for info. Low and behold, i run into my good buddy from my 1st period class. What a small world, now we both have the same problem.
