Under the equal employment opportunity rights, when one is being interviewed for a job or promotion what is it when on an oral interview one knows the personnel on the oral panel, are emendate friends, is their emendate supervisor and/or manager? During hiring for a promotion or job would this be wrong and possible grounds for favoritism and unfair for other interviewers for the position?

Knowing someone does not rise to the level of discrimination.
