My 19 year old son was at the movies. Fifteen minutes after he came home, the police came to his door. His roommates had some people over and they had been drinking. My son was given a "furnishing alcohol to minors" because the officer said he knew drinking was going on in his house.

Even though he told the officer he hadn't been drinking, three weeks later the officer issued him a MIP. The officer said that the MIP could be dropped because of lack of evidence, but my son had to pick up the citation.

What should he do?

If you are savvy with the law, you can handle it alone. If not, get a lawyer or plead not guilty and hopefully a PD.

Sounds like a weak case I would contact an attorney.
