Assuming that the company is subject to the FLSA (almost all employers are), if you are non-exempt the employer MUST pay overtime at time and a half; however if you are exempt you are not entitled by law to overtime at all. If that is the case then straight time is more than the law requires. We don't know if you are exempt or non-exempt so we don't know if your employer is violating the law or being more generous than he has to be.

There are some rare exceptions but we would have to know much more about the details to see if they apply.
