My license is currently suspended in Iowa for nonpayment of fines. I am living in Florida now, and Florida will not re-issue me a license because of the Iowa suspension.

Is there any way to petition Florida to issue a license even if it's suspended in another state?

Is there any way to make an agreement with Iowa to take the suspension away, so I can get a job and actually pay the fines?

I have tried for a hardship license, but neither Iowa or Florida will give me one.

The fines total somewhere around $4,000.

Thank you.

A: Yes. Ask Iowa what they want done and then do it.

Thank you.

Do you happen to know who i would contact with a request like this? The DMV or the state clerks office?

Contact whoever issues the licenses.
