My grandma lives in a senior citizen apartment complex and she was told the other day that her rent would be increasing by $40 and the guy also told her that "Oh, by the way, my wife was overcharging you by $40 some odd dollars last year" and she told him "well, that's money you owe me so credit it to this year's rent" and he said "no, sorry, there's nothing we can do about it."
Yeah right! They took her money the whole year last year and they want to do it again this year
This does not seem right to me but I don't know the lawful term for this sort of "crime" or if there is one which I'm hoping there is since for one she is a senior citizen and secondly that's ripping someone off, scam-like if you will. Please advise.
