Owner of Life Insurance Policy and Sole Beneficiary

My mother has lived with my family for a number of years and a few months ago, she signed her life insurance policy over to me and made me the sole beneficiary. She died intestate leaving nothing of real value in her name but my brother insists that he's entitled to part of the life insurance and is willing to sue to get it.

Does he have the grounds to sue me?

He can sue based on undue influence but that is a very very difficult thing to prove, especially since you cared for her for many years. It just depends on what you want to do. You can wait and see if he sues or you can offer him a settlement.
