Can state police clock me off the highway?

also should i plead not guilty? please help me

Take traffic school if it isn't too late.

I never heard of a court date on a Saturday.

Did you attend?

If you didn't, you'd better get there Monday and ask about traffic school or a deferred judgment.

Deferred is akin to probation.
Stay outta trouble, the ticket goes away.

He got the ticket today... it wasn't a court date.

Mrjwahl- you don't have a good chance of beating the ticket based on the calibration of the radar. I don't know the state rules regarding calibration, but to challenge that in court would require a lot more cost and effort than you are willing to put into a simple traffic ticket.

Maybe if you weren't speeding it would be worth the fight, but that isn't the case. Look into taking traffic school and pay the fines. Traffic school will keep it from being reported to your insurance and it stays off your record too.

And yes, state police can operate anywhere within the state.

can you tell me a little more about traffic school? like how it works and opperates and what i have to do

Contact the court on your citation and ask them about it. The law varies a bit by state, but essentially you will pay the speeding ticket AND pay for traffic school (which can be a couple hundred dollars) and then the certification from the school will keep everything off your record. I believe you can only do it once every few years.
The court will probably provide a list of acceptable courses that you may take- and MANY are available online.
