Hello. My husband and I reside in Pennsylvania. My husband and I have a current, joint will on file. Can my spouse, without my knowledge have a
2nd, "secret" will in which he leaves monies/etc. to another person that would be upheld in court?

Thank you.

Hello. Was this a stupid question or what? Is there anyone familiar with Pennsylvania law that knows whether a person can have two wills ........... one without the spouse's knowledge, and if so would it "stand up" in court? I should add that we have no children. Thank you.

It depends on the wording of the wills. You can have them reviewed by an attorney to be sure but the answer is probably.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, I can think I am safe in that my husband and I have a joint will, but he can have a separate will that I am not aware of? So, when we have our joint will re-done, I should be certain that it contains verbage such as "this is our only will", etc? Thank you.

Have the wills done by an attorney. He will know the proper wording to be sure that a contract is formed.
