Paid 400 dollars for title search; now, lawyer won't return our calls. Help?

Last month, my husband and I hired an attorney to perform a title search on our behalf to determine whether or not we could subdivide a piece of land (two adjoining house lots, one developed, the other not). We paid the attorney 400 dollars. After he completed the title search, he contacted us and informed us that he would need to do additional research in order to subdivide the lot. Now, nearly six weeks later, he will not return our phone calls. Is there any recommended course of action in this matter? Please advise. Thank you.

I would send him a certified letter. Tell him if he fails to communicate with you, you will file a bar complaint. You will immediately get a call.
