Paid Administrative Leave Pending an Investigation

I have been on paid administrative leave pending an investigation for 9 months now. It was not until recently that I was actually told what I was being accused of specifically. Before this, it just stated I had violated "policy or policies". I work for the Housing Authority of the City of LA, technically I am a government employee. My question is can they keep me on admin leave for so long? Does Cal Government Code Apply, specifically Section 19574.5? And can they force me to be confined to my residence during work hours while I am on admin leave? Thanks

No way anyone outside of your agency could know without extensive research.
I suggest you read your agency's HR policy to see if you're being treated appropriately.
If you're being paid, you betcha you can be required to stay at home, or even be commanded to be on an agency site in a certain room between 8:00 AM to 5:00PM.
However, if you no longer want that PAID vacation, do whatever it is you wanna do.
I suggest you discuss this entire matter with one of California's many great labor or employment lawyers.

Typically on admin leave you are not confined to any location. You are technically on duty and need to be available during the specified hours but can be out and about doing what you want. Your company policy will spell it out.
Sometimes these matters linger on for awhile.

Nine months is a long time to be on admin. leave even though you are being paid. I would talk to a labor law attorney. The attorney should be able to answer any questions you might have.
