Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Paid civil demand,

I got caught shoplifting in phoenix arizona. I am over the age of 18, and cops were not called. I got my demand letter of $145 and paid it right away. Is it over with now? I am so embarrassed and just want this to be done.

You'll know if it's over with when and if you don't hear from the police. While it's likely over, the store has up until the statute of limitations expires to charge you.

There is no reason for store (you should not have named) to any further action so I would say there is a 90% likihood this is over

Since the police were not called & you paid the civil demand, agree that it is doubtful the store will pursue further action against you.

Just to let you know in some states a retailer cannot seek civil demand and file criminal complaint both. Not sure if AZ is one of them without researching
