Is it a wise move to file for a pardon in Pennsylvania without the services of an attorney? I have a couple of convictions that were misdemeanors from a while back (all from the same case-theft related and it was my first and only offense)(know-it-all 19 year old!) that I want removed but it looks like it's necessary to have a pardon instead of an expungement. Will I have to appear in court? (I now live out-of-state). Also, I understand that a pardon may be hard to obtain in Pa. Is this generally true?
