I have a German born daughter with a German mother. I had been serving in the Army at the time my daughter was born. Mom and I split and I have been unable to see my daughter since she was 8 months old. Mom says I can vivit whenever I want; then says she will call polizie if I show up. Mom recently remarried and wants to change my daughters last name to mom's last name. She says I don't have a right to stop her. Is this true and will it change things if I get my daughter registered at the consulate as a American. (I meet all requirements for that.) This has been a on and off argument for the past 5 years. When ever Mom gets a new man or hubby she wants to change my daughters name and even asked me to let this guy adopt her. Thanks any advise will be good as long as it it is the truth of the law.

Your jurisdiction is listed as Germany. This is a US law form. I'm not sure you will get a reply here.
