I received a citation today, GS 20-157 A. Its classified as a Class 2 Misdemeanor. I was passing a funeral procession 3 cars, 3 cop cars in the lead. They stop an intersection to hold traffic and I stopped giving them right away. Yet I was signalled over and ticketed for failure to do so? I had cars behind me as well. I am confused by the charge itself since at no time did I pass the cops. And by the DMV driving regs I was legal in passing the procession as it was a 4 lane hwy/road.
What am I looking at here if I were to say okay and pay a fine? Besides saying I was guilty to something I was not.
Is it worth fighting. Trying to get ahold of a local attorney about this as well.
