hi,

i hired an attorney in my defense for a simple divorce.

the attorney has filed (and now completed) a motion to withdraw from the case (re: breakdown in communication).

fine, i don't need him anymore, anyway. but now he has sent me a statement for payment and i would like to dispute some items.

firstly, there is a gross calculation error regarding the balance due. i am pretty sure i can deal with that one.

secondly, he has charged me for his time worked for filing his motion to withdraw and sending me subsequent letters stating this.

am i liable for these charges? i believe since i did not hire him to withdraw from my representation, i should not pay for his work resulting from his decision to do so.

thanks for reading,

ryan

sorry for the unruly bumping, but this seems like a fairly simple question to answer.
