payment of repair costs of stopped up kitchen sink

I live in a house that I believe has plumbing problems. I have to call the landlord every six month's about the kitchen sink or the bathroom's backing up, and the landlord has had no problem paying for it. But he has recently paid for unstopping the kitchen sink and has sent me a bill for 125 dollars saying that it is my responsibility according to the lease. The lease states "Except as otherwise specified in this lease, Landlord will pay to repair or remedy property in need of repair if tenant complies with the procedures for requesting repair.
Landlord will not pay for repair of the following items unless caused by landlord's negligence
Damages from wastewater stoppages caused by foreign or improper objects in lines that serve the property.
I never put any foreign or improper objects in the lines, so I don't see why I am responsible for paying for the plumbing problems this house has.
What should I do, I really need an answer on this so that I can decide if I will write a dispute letter.
Thanks

No one can give you the answer you seek.
Why?
Most aren't being forced to live in backed up sewage.
Bottom line, you can request your landlord repair it, and he'll saying its your problem.

This is a battle you can't win.
Forget those who claim a court will fix it.
Plus, do you want to end up in court every time you're shooed away?

It's time to start seeking your next home.
In the meantime I'd pay for the repairs, unless you want to wallow in raw sewage.
If that we're to happen, the health department might step in and try to help.

However, why risk your health over a few dollars?

You're free to make your own decisions, so feel free to ignore my ideas and go with yours.

Good luck.

I agree that you might want to go ahead & pay the $125.00. You can always start looking for another place to live.

the problem is the landlord has always paid for it at this particular place, he paid to resolve the problem and now wants me to reimburse him, but your right if I have to pay for it I will be looking for me another place to stay either way.
Thanks

Take the easy route, get it fixed, then start looking for a more habitable home, with a reasonable LL.
