PayPal charged back

I have been an eBay seller for a short time, one of the items I sold; the buyer claimed there was unauthorized use of his credit card and files a dispute with PayPal; and PayPal charged back the full amount of the sale plus settlement fees. I like to know what my rights in this matter are and weather there is any legal steps I can take to recover my losses.
Here is the detail of the circumstances:
The sale was final on 9/8/08, I ship the laptop via USPS with signature confirmation, and it was delivered and signed for on 9/20/08.
On 12/4/08 (66 days later) I received an e-Mail from PayPal "Notification of chargeback reversal"; saying that the buyer is claiming that there was unauthorized use of their credit card.
On 12/31/08, received an email from PayPal about the final resolution notifying me that the buyer's credit card company decided in favor of the buyer.
I have contacted PayPal several times requesting some answer to questions that I have in this regard, such as: what is the time frame to file a dispute, and to my knowledge all credit card companies required to carry insurance to cover fraud and unauthorized use of the credit cards, but they avoided all my questions and they have been very vague about that detail of this matter.
I'll appreciate some legal advice and shed some light on this matter.

Where was the laptop shipped? Was it shipped to the address on file for the credit card? Another address? Do you have any proof of correspondence? It is possible that you are the victim of a fraud. You can dispute the chargeback but you'll probably want some proof that the person challenging the fraud received notices of the sale, etc. You'll probably need more information to make your case. Good luck.
