I was divorced in 2003. I knew my ex wife had a pretty good size pension, but I didn't really know what, if anything to do..
Another thing is that we both live in different states now.
We were divorced in AZ. I live in PA, she lives in NC

Can I pursue this? :dgrin

Ah...... NO. Let me make sure I understand you; you got a divorce, didn't get awarded any of the pension, didn't really know she has a lot of pension, and you want to go back in now and get some money from her? Really? No man, not possible.

You really think you can pursue her pension 6 years after your divorce is final?

Not likely in AZ. As far as this woman, every divorce is different and if she had a clause that allowed her to re-open it, then possible but not common. See an attorney and be prepared to rack up lots of legal fees to pursue this.

The pension she has would be well worth the cost.
And I didn't have a clue that I was entitled to any of it.

Did you not have an attorney when you divorced? Also how long were you married? At the time of divorce you might have been entitled to 50% of what accumulated during your marriage. Honestly the chances of you getting anything 6 years down the road is slim to none. You are likely going to pay an attorney for nothing, and you may get stuck paying her legal fees too. Talk to an attorney and bring your decree to them but you just cannot re-open divorces 6 yrs down the road.
