Pensions

My husband and I had been married for 42 years. We divorced in February 2006. He was retired USAF and I am currently recieving half of his retirement from the military.
My problem is during our meeting with the lawyer (we both had the same one) I had completely forgotten that he had worked with an aerospace company for 5 years, 1991-1996, so he had a small pension because he was vested. It was not put into our divorce decree that I was entitled to half of this pension. Just the military retirement was put in the decree.
We had sold our home about 5 years previously and put all of our things in storage because we were going to work for a company that provided us with an apartment.
I have tried to contact the aerospace company benefits to talk with them about if I am still entitled to part of his pension even sending them my decree. I cannot get anyone to talk with me about what I should do. I contacted my attorney but he said it would be a conflict of interest. I am just so lost as what to do. The pension isn't a big one but I think after 42 years with him I am entitled to part even if I forgot to tell the lawyer. My ex does not want to talk with me so I can't discuss this with him.
Please if anyone has a suggestion I welcome it with open arms.
Thank you so much.

Get your own separate attorney, but would the cost you pay be worth the small amount you would receive from that account?
