I was a member of a band for the past six years. The band is a sole proprietorship and I was paid as contract labor(I file a 1099 with my taxes). The band has never had any kind of formal written agreements of any kind. While we were together we recorded 2 CDs. - all the music that was recorded is in the public domain. We had no recording contract for the CDs. We just did them on our own. I recently left the band to join another band. Am I due any money from my old band for my performance on the CDs, that they will continue to sell? If yes,what percentage?

What do you mean that the music recorded is all in the public domain? Are you talking about the compositions? The performance? What kind of money is being made that is making you wonder? Were you a member of the band or a hired studio musician?
