Hi. Went to court for perm guardianship as my grandsons mom gave temp to his 2nd cousin, & it had expired. Cousin had wrongly moved him out of state without permission from court. Now I find out that he wants to stay there in Nebraska & she had gotten him into training for football & he can't be in football now due to his not being able to leave the state of indiana & go back to Nebraska until Aug. 14 when judge will decide who gets guardianship. This makes me feel like a heel, as they never communicated anything of this to me. I'd like to rescind my petition for guardianship so that he can go back to neb. asap instead of waiting. Is there anything I can so he can go back & have his practice so he can be in football????

Yes, simply advise your attorney you wish to no longer pursue the case.
Or, just don't show up in court.
However, his cousin/guardian needs to seek permanent custody or guardianship.
If you don't have attorneys, you all need them.
There are many hidden problems with what you're all doing.

Thank you....So even if I rescind this petition we still have to wait til court date in aug. before he can go back to Nebraska right? I'm only asking on here as don't have the funds to get an attorney to fight a case already determined by the grandson who is 13, own choosing.

A 13 year old CHILD has no ability to decide anything.
I possess no power to grant you permission, or deny you permission to do ANYTHING.
If I were you, I'd WAIT until the court date arrived and discuss this in open court.
I have my suspicions about what the judge will say.
I won't waste your time with revealing them to you.
You can hire an attorney, or await the court date.
Otherwise, doing other things could result in problems for those actors.
