Personal and Professional attack online, blog created to ruin my life!

Hello,

A blog was created in my name, by someone dead set against ruining my and my husbands life. They created this blog/site, and proceeded to write an article about our sexuality, as well as post copyrighted images that are originally from our personal profiles (some from a dating site, clearly copyrighted - they simply took screen shots of images) as well as from our professional sites. Is this a copyright issue? Can this blog (blogger, a free account) remove this site? I have contacted them to do so recently, have yet to hear back.

In addition, they are impersonating my husband by using his name not just as the name of the blog, but also for the posts, they use his first and last name, and his photo as the "poster" which clearly is an impersonation.

And, I believe they are using the blog for discriminatory purposes regarding our sexuality preferences.

This is a very big deal, and any information is greatly appreciated before i keel over and have a heart attack, my husband as well.

Thank you kindly.

If this is a BIG deal, why are you wasting your valuable time on here?

You require the services of an attorney to assist you in handling this BIG deal.

It's obvious this interloper isn't going to listen to reason. So far, he/she has ignored you. You're probably going to need the services of an attorney to sort this out, maybe even court action.

You might speak with a private investigator. You might be very surprised when the perpetrator has been unmasked?

I just discovered this a few hours ago. I am still in shock and trying to figure out what to do without spending a fortune, if possible. We can not afford to hire a PI.

I contacted them requesting to remove the blog. They replied "Oh please, don't make me laugh. You are welcome to waste as much time and money as you would like consulting attorneys. Unfortunately, the truth isn't illegal in America. None of the information has been obtained illegally. Nothing illegal has happened on that blog."

My husband is concerned if I continue to email them directly, it could add fuel to their fire, and perhaps make things worse. I have a feeling I know who it is. The blog site has just been notified, and said they have many situations like this to deal with, and it might take some time.

Is there any harm in contacting the person via email (the creator of the blog emailed us a copy of it today, as if to show off their work proudly) and try to reason with them?

If after we contact the blog, as well as the photo site who is hosting our clearly copyrighted images, and they will not cooperate in a day or two, certainly, I will be taking steps to hire a PI, and see what needs to be done.

Thanks again.

If you pick at a sore, it gets worse.

Let sleeping dogs lie!!!

At least when the dog is asleep, it can't bite!!!

If it's blogger, I am guessing that the account will be removed very quickly as it would be a violation of their terms of use. If you want to know the identify of the person, that will be an expensive proposition as the poster probably didn't use a real name at registration and investigation would require much time and effort.
