Personal information shared with employees

I had to tell my manager of a personal situation because I missed work due to injuries. It is a criminal case and I am the victim. It seems my manager got mad at me and now has shared this personal information with the entire staff. I had another worker come up to me and ask me about what happened to me. I was so mad and upset. Is this legal? I already know it is unprofessional, but is it illegal. I am quiting as it is a horrible place to work, but would like advice if I should pursue legal action.

Yes its unfair and unethical but sadly not illegal
